Methyl tetrahydrophthalic anhydride, also known as MeTHPA, is one of the MTHPA anhydrides. It has two isomers: 4-methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride and 3-methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride, with melting points of 65°C and 63°C, respectively. It is seldom used as a standalone curing agent.
The actual product is a liquid mixture that has been isomerized into different isomers. The molecular weight is 166.17, and the liquid is light yellow in colour and translucent, with a relative density of 1.20-1.22. -20°C is the freezing point. The boiling point is between 115 and 155 degrees Celsius. 40-80 mPa viscosity at 25°C the refractive index ranges between 1.4980 and 1.4960.
Approximately 40% of the anhydride group is present. MTHPA is primarily used as an epoxy resin curing agent. When mixed with tertiary amine accelerators, it has a low propensity to absorb moisture from the air and emits no or very little carbon dioxide. MTHPA is easily blended with a variety of liquid resins, resulting in a mixture that is stable, low viscous, and has a long pot life.
It's used in filament wound products (oil pipes, poles, and sporting goods), laminated sheets, printed circuit boards, and switch gears in the reinforced plastics sector. MTHPA has a wide range of applications in the electrical industry, including capacitors, resistors, wiring parts transformers, ignition coils, and fly back transformers, thanks to its excellent insulating properties. North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa are the main regions covered in the Methyl Tetrahydrophthalic Anhydride (MTHPA) market study. It also includes main regions (countries) such as the United States, Canada, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Russia, China, Japan, South Korea, India, Australia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Mexico, Brazil, Turkey, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Methyltetrahydrophthalic Anhydride (MTHPA) market will depend on market share (sales and revenue) of key companies and growth opportunities of the Methyltetrahydrophthalic Anhydride (MTHPA) market by type, application, key manufacturers and key regions and countries. The market is expected to reach $14.19 billion in 2025 at a CAGR of 5%. Entrepreneurs who invest in this project will be successful.
